We want to cross out most if not all on our list. We tend to make a long list of tasks for the day but still end up drained with a lot more to finish. Are we not doing enough? Keeping a to-do list requires a commitment to completing your goals and following your progress by marking it. Others create a separate to-do list for their personal and work.

By keeping a to-do list makes you productive and efficient. You are saving time and energy and still have an organized and stress-free day.
You can hand write your to-do list. If you are creative, a fan of calligraphy with a talent in drawing you will love keeping a journal with a to-do list in it. Have fun with it. Put colours into it. Doodle and be creative.

If you are a minimalist type of person, a simple black and white to-do list will still give you the same efficiency.

Here is the list to make the most out of your to-do list.

1. Be smart in writing your to-do list
Write down what matters most. Do not put things that you do every day that does not need a reminder. Like what time you wake up, just set your alarm but do not list it down. It will only make your list longer.
It is frustrating when you realize that you just wasted so much time and energy to something you don't have to do just because of a wrong decision. Sounds not relevant but it happens. You chose to do this instead of something else that matters most
Put the most important things on top of your list. Three must do things is advisable. Set priorities, see what needs to delegate like grocery, which you can say no, maybe a party or reschedule on a later day to prioritize others that need attention right away.
Leave a few minutes cushion time in between tasks just in case something comes up.
Keep it simple.

2.  Finish your most important things first (MIT).
Write down at least three MIT and focus on that. Give quality to your task to get the best outcome and to avoid repeating it.
Many focus on the quantity rather than the quality of a completed tasks.  Doing that, you are wasting your precious time and energy.
Keeping track of your progress and time spent on a task is a great way to save time. Be specific about what you wanted to achieve.
                     
3. Give attention to things that involve your emotion.
Calling a family that needs help. Talking to your child about her behaviour. Things that will give you peace of mind. These things that we always neglect but affects our health because of stress and worries.

4. Prepare your to-do list the night before.
By planning your activities ahead you will have a clear vision of your duties for the following day. By doing that you will be able to efficiently manage your time with what is important and what is not on your list. Check your to-do list as well in the morning before you start your day.

5. Use words of affirmation 
Whatever your goals are, using Inspirational quotes and phrases are a great way to push yourself to do more towards your goals without much effort.

  20. I keep my to do list on my phone. Every night before bed, I record what I need to do the next day. I agree that adding things that are routine can make the list seem longer. However, I do add "Workout" because otherwise, I will not give enough priority.
